Project Brief

Kisinger Campo & Associates Corp. provided professional engineering services for the design of modification to the S-11 water control structure located on Big Gant Lake in Sumter County, Florida as part of a continuing miscellaneous engineering and inspections services contract with the Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD).

KCA completed inspections and field measurements. We designed a safer operating system to replace the older manually operated five-bay stop log weir system and recommended the modification and relocation of the catwalk system for safer weir gate hand cranks operation. We proposed purchasing a commercially available, downward opening aluminum weir gate system. Our support structure design incorporated a reinforced concrete frame constructed on the existing sheet metal piles.

KCA developed a cost estimate for construction of the project that was within SWFWMD’s budget and provided construction engineering and inspection services.
