Community involvement is an important company value. KCA proudly offers our support to the community in many ways, both large and small.
Natures Classroom
One community project of which we are particularly proud is our work with Hillsborough County School District’s “Nature’s Classroom”. This outdoor environmental education facility located on the Hillsborough River provides students a “hands-on” opportunity to learn about the natural world that surrounds them.
Nature’s Classroom was originally opened in 1969 and was beginning to show some wear. Nature’s Classroom was looking to replace and extend some of its boardwalk over the marsh land surrounding the river, and KCA wanted to help. We offered to provide Nature’s Classroom with a brand new boardwalk. We, our engineers, designed the new facility. Then we coordinated donations and purchased the construction materials. Finally, our employees from throughout our company and their families donated their time and hard work to construct the boardwalk.
Continuing Involvement
KCA and our employees continue to be involved in the community. We support our local little league teams, participate in the AHA’s Heart Walk, sponsor a civil engineering professor at the University of Florida, support the Judeo-Christian Health Clinic in providing medical care, help fund the University of South Florida’s Bull-Arney Scholar program, work with the Special Olympics of Florida, and more. KCA is proud to do our part to help our community and we are always looking for ways to help. |
